Florida Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges after Facebook’s Tip
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office says they have arrested an Immokalee man who is accused of sharing child pornography through Facebook messenger.
Genaro Francisco Francisco was arrested and is charged with possession of child pornography and transmission of child pornography.
After CCSO received a cyber tip from the National Center For Missing and Exploited Children, an investigation was initiated.
Investigators say Facebook reported the tip about a file believed to be child exploitation being transferred.
The arrest report says the file was sent through Facebook’s private messenger and showed two boys younger than 12 engaging in a sex act.
Detectives were able to obtain chats from Facebook between the suspect account and other Facebook users.
Investigators say the suspect discussed his desire for sexual activity with children and talked about getting the file from the dark web.
Detectives were able to determine the activity was happening at a residence in Immokalee, and Franciso was located inside.
They say he admitted the Facebook account was his and confessed to the crimes.
Detectives seized all of his electronic devices.
Investigators say a U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer was placed on Francisco.
They say once Francisco has satisfied his criminal charges; he will then be released into ICE custody.
